Good Planet’s Food “Smoked Gouda Snackable Wedges” Review

Recently, I had the opportunity to try “Good Planet’s Food’s Smoked Gouda Snackable Wedges” through Social Nature’s site. If you haven’t read my 8 Must-Try Vegan Resources post yet, definitely check it out as I give a brief overview of what Social Nature is and why you should sign up.

Availability:

Finding the product was not very hard at least in my area. The only downside was that the only store that carried it was Giant Eagle, though not all Giant Eagle’s carried it. I ended up having to drive across town to pick it up. Hopefully, they expand to other stores soon, so that other people can try the product.

Packaging:

Overall the packaging was really cute. It really stood out in the store and made it easy to find the product. The outside box was made of a type of cardboard and the cheese was wrapped in individual pieces of foil.

Taste:

Taste-wise the cheese was pretty decent. The cheese had a decent rich, smoky, and savory flavor to the cheese which was great! The only downside was that it left a slightly unpleasant after-taste.

Meltability:

This cheese melted great. The only downside was that it melted kind of fast. I put it in the microwave for about 10sec to soften it, and it was a legit hot mess. But that being said it would make a great cheese for both quesadillas and grilled cheese.

Price:

This item at the time of purchase was $4.99. Which isn’t that bad for a vegan item.

Final Thoughts:

My final thoughts on this cheese is a 7/10. The cheese is not readily available and there is a slight aftertaste. The price point isn’t that bad and the initial taste is pretty decent as well as the meltability factor. The packaging was ok, and a pretty decent option if you’re looking to reduce buying plastic.

Give this cheese a try and let me know your thoughts in the comments!!
